Compass Therapy Fees, Rebates, and Policies

  • Session Fees

The following fee schedules are payable at the beginning of the session and card details will be taken upon your first appointment and stored in a secure Medipass database; unless otherwise organised:

50 minute face to face, or Telehealth consultation: $330

90 minute face to face, or Telehealth EMDR session: $450

  • Medicare Rebates

*** You may be eligible for rebates through Medicare or your private health fund. Please discuss this with your referring doctor or health fund prior to your first appointment. We are able to process your Medicare rebates for you, however, it is your responsibility to ensure you bring the appropriate referral and Medicare card details with you to your appointments, and report accurately the number of rebates already utilised in the calendar year.

As of 01/07/2023, Medicare may rebate:

$145.25 per standard consultation with a Clinical Psychologist. Please note that the rebates are for 50minute appointments and attending to your appointment late will result in the rebate not being applicable.

Should a payment not be made, and reasonable attempts have been made to secure payment then upon discharge for non-payment the delivered service will be Bulk Billed.

  • Cancellations and Rescheduling

IMPORTANT: If you are unable to make your scheduled appointment, please provide at least two COMPLETE business days notice (Not 48hours) or a cancellation fee of 100% of the scheduled fee applies. Cancellation fees are not eligible for rebates through Medicare or private health funds.

Appointments will not be rebooked until the cancellation fee has been settled, and two consecutive 'Did-Not-Attend's will result in being discharged from services.

Please note that it is not the responsibility of Compass Therapy Australia to remind you of your own appointments. Confirmation emails are sent at the time of booking, reminder emails are sent 3 days prior, and reminder text messages are sent the day before; each should be viewed as a courtesy and not a necessary aspect of session delivery.

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) Assisted Note Taking

Clinicians at our clinic are using an AI program called NovoNote, an automated tool designed to assist clinicians with taking session notes.

Purpose of the automated note taker: The use of an AI enhanced note taker was adopted to enable us to focus more on communication and your care during sessions, rather than being distracted by manual note-taking, and find that notes are more comprehensive as a result of it's use.

What we Save: Our AI note taker, NovoNote, transcribes the session and then provides a summary of that session. In every instance that transcript is reviewed, edited where/if needed, added to by our clinicians personal notes, then the original transcript is deleted and never saved.

Compliance and Security: NovoNote complies with the Australian Privacy Principles and is compliant with AHPRA and HIPAA standards. It adheres to industry encryption and security protocols. NovoNote operates on a secure server in Australia and your data does not contribute to training AI models. For more detailed information on the security measures and protocols of NovoNote, please visit the security page: NovoPsych.com.au/NovoNote_Security
